It seems to me 
that you have 
Inside your head 
A picture of how 
you think life 
should look 
and you spend 
so much time 
studying 
and staring 
and worrying 
about that pretend picture 
that you forget
Or just don't see 
how life actually looks
There is no problem
With having
Ideas about things
Having aims
And ambitions
And desires
But when these things
Shape the world 
So reality is blurred
This is when
There is a problem
This is when
Trying to make 
A photograph fit
Inside a video camera
Becomes a task
Taking lots of effort
For little reward
And once complete 
Looks nothing like
How it was imagined
In the first place
And whilst all that
Time
Was wasted
Someone else 
Lived your life
Whilst your life
Passed
You by
