Beyond the Realms of Murder
Beyond The Realms of Murder
They paid their respects in their own way,
Not too far away from present time,
Their only trace they’d ever been,
They thought of them as primitive,
Giving little confidence in their successes,
Remarking,
So slow, so slow
They progressed.
Upon higher council,
Time and time again
The case was argued for intervention,
Alas,
As fast as they could move
From realm to realm,
They found the machinations here
Too brutal beyond understanding.
Each profanity followed profanity,
Each bloodletting
Became more and more absurd,
All murdered in false convictions,
All trained naively for war,
No recompense across the stars
Could allay just what had been lost,
No more wonder from Universes council,
Her death laid her to rest,
Yet a billion billion screams
Of unforgotten futures,
Told each sentient,
She hadn’t lived her time.
The biosphere gone so abruptly,
The visitors felt such sorrow,
But each brutality they felt
Within their sentient hearts,
And they knew they shouldn’t let her live.
Out there,
Among a multitude of celestial bodies,
Earths mirrored image begged to grow,
But the inhabitants who live there,
Are not of us we know,
No striking down
Our kin, no striking down our children,
No striking down the many wonders,
No eating flesh and blood of creatures
Who have every right to life.
The Sentient guard her well,
And let only those who cherish life
Walk upon her meadows,
They keep a history
Of all that determined our demise,
Just to let the record show,
Yet every once in a while
When asked upon her death,
Their tears become unbearable to flow,
2.
Life here has gone,
Life here is done,
A lifeless ball so cold,
So cold it’s difficult to breathe,
Makes existence for our angels,
Difficult to swallow,
Here lies Mother Earth
Her death throes continuing to haunt,
Her orbit of this Star resonating still,
Like the stubbornness of ghosts.
