Ocean Beauty
Ocean Beauty
He stands still with a rose in his hand
His bare feet dug deep within the white sand
He looks out towards the horizon
The sun slowly begins risin’
A gash of crimson scrapes the empty sky
A white dove flies by
The golden explosion fills the surroundings
The auburn warmth makes his heart start pounding
The black sea becomes a deep indigo
And the waves and ripples begin to flow
He stood still high atop a sand dune
And softly hummed a familiar tune
He thought back of the days he came here with Dorothy
As he held the rose up to his nose
He smelled the sweet scent
Unable not to repent
He wished so much for Dorothy to be there
In his heart he knew it wasn’t fair
Yet she was old and she was ill
Her time was true to fill
The clouds spread out through the ambiance
They looked as if they were an entrance
The clouds covered the sky like a frosting
And the ocean mist filled the air like a dusting
Dorothy loved it here
He knew she was near
Because she would always be in a place so beautiful
A place they had shared together so many times before
Right there at that gorgeous ocean shore
With their bare feet dug deep within the sand
And with a rose in each of their hands
