When I Was Young
I grew up in the south, where the smell of honeysuckles would water your mouth.
Barefoot and suntanned, I ran wild and free, building forts in the woods and playing in the trees.
Life was so easy, care free and fun, I loved lying on the trampoline under the sun.
There I would dream of running wild like a horse, I never imagined my life on this course.
Bon fires & picnics filled up my summer days, catching lighting bugs and hide-n-go seek was the best part of my day.
Chasing the ice cream truck and playing in the mud until we got stuck.
My dad would take us on the best vacations; we traveled all over this nation. Riding in the RV and boating across the water, I really miss those days and relish those hours.
I miss the days when life was so easy, when the hardest decision I had to make was what I would wear, or how to style my hair. Life was fair and fun and free, life was great then and I felt the most like me.
