so Far, yet so Close

So far, yet so close

I see the light that can take me

I fight madness, illness, cruelty

I think of past, present, future

I see a man that can look through my smile

my happiness fading

I see a word that keeps me alive

the politeness in their speak

I walk for days, months, years

I breathe water, fire, dust

it feels like an eternity

I see glass, rock, wood

mountains, desserts, oceans

they speak to me, to keep walking

to keep moving - I must be crazy

my footsteps fading, my breathing slowing

so far, yet so close

they tell me not to lose hope

to see the light that comes from destiny

so far, yet so close

to get to the place I call home

to not lose hope

to fight for all
