Neutiquam erro

Neutiquam erro

What things define our destiny in the games of chance we play?

When children born in a new world hold guilt of yesterday

What weight we place upon them as we pass to them our fear

What burdens carry forward that may have stayed with yesteryear

As cycles known and cycles shown, tarry on for years to come

We prove our non existence via; Cognito, ergo sum

For those who think are not asleep and could not pass such woes

To tiny children, deserving more, new eyes and tiny toes

They think of us as Gods you see and look to us as guides

So we play the roll act masterful, cement it on all sides

The truth we gladly keep from them, entrenched in blazon pride

That the children knew the way home and lost adults….Simply lied.

Ok, you've really got me - I even went & looked up what the Latin was! Fantastic stuff, as usual ;)

I very much enjoyed this poem and with three boys of my own I see everyday the truth of your words.
