Difficult Emotions
We need to be able to talk about difficult emotions
and not feel the need to act 'happy' even when we are not.
Happiness is wonderful when it is real,
but other emotions are real and part of life too.
If we shy away from them, we start to feel they are wrong
and then guilt and shame are piled onto the pile;
we lose the ability to know how to relate
to the roundness of all feelings.
And that's how loneliness happens.
And that's how depression happens.
And that's how suicide happens.
