Does The Light Cry?
Does The Light Cry?
Our biology,
Our human mechanism
For negotiating pain,
Wasn’t merely thrown
Slovenly into the mix,
Wasn’t just created without
Thought and understanding
Of the nature we become,
The nature we already are.
When a human becomes
Hurt, they cry,
They cry perhaps the saltwater
Of the seas we once belonged,
And no-one can go through life
Without the shedding of tears,
As looking at it logically,
It seems the architects
Developed us strictly
For punishment,
For,
If we were to live
Within a world of peace,
A world of harmony,
A world where we
Do not feel the sorrow of
Our ways,
Then maybe,
Our biology would be different,
I would if allowed,
Ask the heavens for clues
On paradise,
Ask perhaps
The travellers of time
And Space if they
Have the same
Makings for expressions
Of hurt as we humans do,
For it seems,
If paradise,
If Utopia is filled with
Serenity and love - then,
There would be no need
For these eyes
To bear the mechanisms
For tears,
For we would not need
The valves that express
What the heart and soul
Cannot handle;
Cannot contain logically
And compassionately within
It’s biology.
We were made
With flaws,
Flaws that purge
The Waters that trickle
Down the face of cherubs
And guardians alike,
And perfection,
Be nothing we know of this World.
