Live Canon perform election poetry on polling day eve

entry picture

How have poets responded to elections, hustings, and campaigns in previous generations and across the world? How has poetry been used as a form of ballot-box protest? And how did the suffragettes use poetry in their campaign for the vote? Live Canon poetry ensemble will be performing an election special on Wednesday 6 May at 1pm at Greenwich theatre, south-east London; and later the same day at 9.30pm at The Hen and Chickens, Islington, north London. Jim Scott, Eva Traynor and Sophie Crawford will be delivering poetry from memory celebrating the democratic process over 2,000 years, including new work from Glyn Maxwell, Isabel Rogers, Andy George and others.
