You aren't funny
You've grabbed the long rope and ditched 
Your paddle.
 
Tom
It may be easier 
It might pay better
But I know
I know
You have more to offer 
Than plastic laughs
From recycled tape.
For a second it makes me sad.
For a minute it makes me think.
For an hour it makes me laugh.
For the rest of my life it will remind me
Of what a throat sounds like 
When it's choking,
Not back and forth 
But from inside to out,
Forever.

This is great. You are not smug and you don't try too hard. The result is a damned fine read, subtle enough and not slave to any style

@davidmoore thank you, I forgot who I wrote it about but I just realized it's about Tom Bergeron from Americas funniest videos. At first I felt that fact trivialized the poem but now I feel it made it more powerfull haha.
