Maybe Real Love
Uncertainty hits me
With a whip sometimes
Because even though life
Is not the simple path
I once hoped for
I still believe
I believe in Life
In a High Presence
That Looks Over Us
The little ants
The molecules that make up Earth
We cry, we sigh, we die
But I want to love
Before I go I need to know
Is there such a thing
As true love on Earth
I still believe
When I look at my mother’s eyes
The deep sadness in her gaze
The love that she brings to me
In her own sweet vulnerable way
The real heart that’s in all her tears
I could never go without knowing
Knowing if I can love for ever
Knowing if the Presence Above
Will hit me with an arrow
And let me love truly
The love that is in me
Longs to express herself
The trust, the openness
These come back haunting me
They won’t go because I still believe
That it can be realized
I believe that life is a dream
And in that dream where I met you
Maybe we can love each other
So even though it’s just hope
Before I go to sleep
I think maybe sometime
Maybe when we’re ready
Maybe we can be real love.
