Seven Steps to Heaven
Like a boat that is pushed by the wind
You drift further and further away
I watch you go and sometimes
There’s tears in my eyes
Sometimes there’s laughter
When I look at the stars
Climbing up on heaven’s stairs
I see your face way up there
Because you take the high road
And I take curvy paths down below
Where the rivers meet oceans
Where the seas meet the sunsets
I’ll see you on the flip side
If we make it to a purgatory
If you’re in heaven look down at me
Say a little prayer so I can get there
And kiss you in heaven
You take the high road
And I’ll meet you up the stairs
The seven steps to the sky
