Rumi poetry night, open mic and a prize!
To commemorate the 800th anniversary of the birth of Rumi, probably the most important Middle Eastern poet of the past millennium, ZanzéBards invites you to an evening devoted to hiws life and works, at The Zanzé Coffee Lounge, 3 Ivegate Bradford BD1 onTuesday December 11, 8 pm till late
With acoustic improvisations by the Balkh Trio and readings in English, Urdu, and Persian.
There will be a £5 prize for the best poem inspired by or translated from the works of Rumi.
ZanzéBards meet to read poetry and sing songs the second Tuesday of every month. It’s an “open mic” (with no mic!). If you want to read or sing, please sign up at 8pm. Others just turn up.
