Manchester's Central Library is to host seminars which are primarily aimed
at academics but are also open to the general public. The University of Salford have instigated this innovation in association with the Library
NORTH-WEST LONG NINETEENTH CENTURY SEMINAR
The first in a series of quarterly seminars to discuss the literature,
history, science & medicine of the Long Nineteenth Century (to include the Late Romantics through to the start of the First World War).
The University of Salford presents:-
1). Jan Golinski (University of New Hampshire) - 'Revolution in the Public
Mind: the Irish Science of Richard Kirwan'.
2). Amber Regis (Keele University) - 'Erasing Digression from the Memoirs
of John Addington Symonds'.
3). Brian Maidment (University of Salford) - 'The Morphology of Mishap -
London "Miseries" 1810 - 1850'.
4). Francesca Scott (University of Warwick) - 'Mary Robinson, Charlotte
Smith & the Female Body'.
