Tonight
Tonight I am glowing.
I am wearing my feelings on the outside.
like a new outfit,
The colour not yet faded,
The cloth uncreased.
I dance past the mirror
on light feet.
Admire the cut,
Note how well it fits,
How it brightens my eyes,
Puts a swing in my hips.
I look in the wardrobe.
Worn outfits left to hang,
Accessories stuffed in drawers,
Shut with a bang.
I remind myself to read the warnings.
Wonder how long this one will survive the laundry.
An then I pout my lips,
wriggle my hips
and wink at my own reflection.
Because tonight it fits.
Tonight I am glowing.

Delightful, fast, funny, full of flair, and very true. Love the disparate details.
