entry picture

Members of Write Out Loud Stockport will be staging two open mic poetry readings at Stockport art gallery on Saturday 26 March and Saturday 9 April between 3.30pm to 4.30pm, with themes loosely based on the 1960s. The poetry sessions are linked to an exhibition currently at the gallery, It Was 50 Years Ago Today, by six artists who were together at Stockport art College in the 1960s. The open mic sessions will be led by Write Out Loud Stockport regulars Andy N and Nigel Astell, with an additional writing workshop with Linda Cosgriff from 10.30am-12.30pm on Saturday 9 April. All three events are free although booking in advance is recommended. Contact Andy N on aen1mpo@yahoo.co.uk for more details.

After talking to Doug Broadhurst about a painting called Celebration I put together a poem called Poetic Shades.

This acrylic on wood stands out from a superb collection of Art and he is joined by five other artists who have put all their work on view for this exhibition.
