Bristol Poetry Festival 2009
Poetry Can announces the programme for this years Bristol Poetry Festival.
The festival brings together the most entertaining, inspirational and award winning poets and performers from Bristol, the South West, the UK and the World in an annual celebration of language, imagination and life.

Sign language poets:
Paul Scott and Richard Carter are two of the most prominent sign language poets in the UK
Poetry shows include:
Brimstone, featuring five of the UK’s most exciting performance poets; Steve Tasane presents Talkies: poetry on film, with special guest Steve Rooney; A Tongue In Your Cheek with Sara-Jane Arbury, Marcus Moore and special guests The art+power poets; My Place or Yours? with Byron Vincent and Emma McGordon; Nick Moore’s The House of Imagination; The Lansdown Poetry Night with Richard Graves.
Bristol poetry festival poetry slams:
There are two poetry slams taking place this year.
Bristol slam poets take on the awesome might of the Allstars team of poetry slam champions.
And via the wonders of internet technology and the silver screen, slammers at Bristol Poetry Festival take on slammers at the Overload Festival Melbourne, Australia.
Poetry exhibition:
Why We Love Poetry, an interactive poetry exhibition from some of the best poets writing for young people in the UK: Gerard Benson, Catherine Benson, Liz Brownlee,
Jane Clarke, Sue Hardy-Dawson, Jan Dean, Michaela Morgan, Roger Stevens,
Philip Waddell and Bernard Young.
