our faces in stereo speaker sets
but in photographs
we look bad
the aftermath of exercise
worn out
and done for
the convict shot
the evidence
there for friends
and strangers
the mass public
who never quote
what a nice couple, we make
but nice is how i feel
from the looks of a puddle
and the way i see our faces
with my eyes
blank and shut
in dark
lonely places
that seem nicer
close to you
