in the middle of france
touring on
a hire bike
on route
to the nearest town
in a dress
that buttons down

low on the chest

and its incidental wisps
the floss of a teen
trying not to be so much of one
when on vacation
amidst the flatlands
and amongst all types
of uncomfortable

I like the imagery your poem portrays Emily.
Tentative freedom. Nice use of colour with the sunflower fields.

Hi Emily,
I really liked the image you painted here, especially these lines:

"the floss of a teen
trying not to be so much of one"

They say a lot - with a little.

Regards,
A.E.

Hello Emily, i like this poem, very evocative. Makes me think of warm fields and innocence meeting with less innocent times to come..
I wanted to put an image here as my comment but i couldn't do it, so I have added it on the page above. It is an image I adapted from a film still. I hope you don't mind. Your poem just brought this image to my mind.. Deb x
