Sister Mercy

Sister Mercy took me dancing

through the minefields of my mind

where in some vast and empty space

we came up on the skeleton

of the man I used to be.

Sister Mercy took me dancing

through the minefields of my mind

to a place of pain and shame

where the children suffered,and

mothers cried tears of want, where

hunger was more then just a word.

Sister Mercy took me dancing

through the minefields of my mind

to a place so dark and red

where the demons wore uniforms

the devils suicide belts.

Sister Mercy took me dancing.

You must have had some dreadful experiences - the scars run deep within your poetry.

I think this is quite dark. Have to say i think you could do more with this poem but wouldn't know how to explain the idea. Hope you don't mind my including my thoughts. I like it.
