Standing in the bakery at four am

the smell of freshly baked bread

is mouth watering,

outside the snow is falling

the air is freezing, and

soon they will start to arrive

to wait in line

for their daily bread,

no one is left out

no one goes without

at the bakery.

The French Aid Agency ACTED used to/ still does run a bakery in Kabul, they used to feed hundreds daily.
