somewhat onward
into the unknown--
talking purple fauna await--
alien, yet somehow
familiar lifeforms
speak exotic languages..
I recognise this place
for it bears the odor
of decay--so off-putting--
and the reason
I did forsake the place
where I grew up.
that third stanza, a good - perspective is close but not the right word - awareness!
