There will be more than 80 publishers at this year’s Free Verse: Poetry Book Fair at London’s Conway Hall on Saturday 17 September from 10am- 4.30pm. Entry is free to the fair, which is described as “an all-day bazaar, market, library, meeting place, performance venue, information resource and more”, and moves on in the late afternoon to the nearby Square Pig & Pen pub for more readings.

Panel discussions at this year’s fair will be Meet the Editors at 10.30am, with Adele Ward of Ward Wood Publishing, Ed Doegar of The Rialto, and Jennifer Grigg of Green Bottle Press, and at 1pm a discussion on poetry and politics, chaired by Fiona Moore, with panellists Choman Hardi, WN Herbert, RA Villanueva and Sophie Mayer.

There will be readings at Conway Hall, from poets from Seren, Templar, Oversteps, Melos Press, Burning Eye, Shearsman, children’s events with The Emma Press at the nearby Garden Café, and more readings at the Square Pig & Pen pub from 5pm onwards from the book fair’s own competition winners, Rialto pamphlets, CB Editions, Telltale Press, Eyewear, Smith/ Doorstop, Carcanet and Penned in the Margins.
