Arvon residential poetry course 9-14 November 2009

Arvon courses come highly recommended and this promises to be a great one for Writers Out Loud. Stage and Page is a course for spoken word artists who want to push their work further, and poets interested in creating pieces specifically for a live audience. Tutors Francesca Beard, Luke Wright and John Osborne promise a journey of creative experimentation, glorious failure and discovery of your inner extrovert. As well as playing with ways of producing new writing, they will be looking at improvisation techniques, persona development and dramatic structure.
All this is at the fabulous Lumb Bank Ted Hughes Arvon Centre, Heptonstall, Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire HX7 6DF.

Costs: £575 (single room) or £525 (twin room). Includes all accommodation, food and tuition. They have grants available for those in financial need.
For more information, please see www.arvonfoundation.org or email lumbbank@arvonfoundation.org or call Ilona on 01422 843714.
