Sawn
Sharp jagged edges tear through my skull
running backwards and forwards
creating heat, as only your words can
Nerve ends jangle
trying to understand the sensations
of torn skin
of bone displaced
of blood in strange, new places
Then comes the ultimate reward -
my mind is opened
Based on Emily Dickinson's quote:
"If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off I know that is poetry."

I read this while having a violent flu-headache last week...there is something right about the way the words are strung together.
