Ignorance

You came and swept me off my feet

Before I even had the chance to breathe

I went in way too deep

You took me up a little too high

I never told you I couldn’t fly

And when you let go, I’ll meet the earth

Smashing; with gravity’s force

The stars in the sky

The stars in your eyes

All the bright lights made me blind

I promised myself, but look where I am

Such a fool I am

Ill realize it soon

Such a fool I am

Such a fool for you

New and unused

Unknowing of you

I followed you, too

Its what you told me to do

But you’ve been here a while

And know how to use your smile

You get them latched on

Then move right along

But beating the rookies will never make you a pro

And being like that only makes you a ho

So use me while you can

Cause one day I’ll learn

I shouldn’t be swinging

You only throw curves

ignorance
