Black Dog
Black Dog in the garden
Sleeping peacefully
Careful not to wake her
Tiptoe sheepily
Black Dogs ears prick up
Suddenly she’s disturbed
Try to reassure her
Fumble mumbled words
Black Dog barking loudly
Crying for attention
Tethered to her kennel gates
Straining under tension
Black Dog viciously growling
Rope snaps and she’s free
Bounding across the garden
Coming after me
Black Dog aggressively snarling
Savagely shows her teeth
Leaps at me with all her force
Knocks me off my feet
Black Dog standing over me
Tearing at my throat
Blood flows to my trachea
Causing me to choke
Black Dog eats away at me
Lay in the flower bed
Licks her lips and lies back down
Leaving me for dead
Black Dog is a killer
Which no one else believes
‘Such a pleasant little puppy’
Not always as it seems
