Conversations in the rain
Do you know it’s her birthday?
She might come out tonight, depends on the chemo,
treatment end is in sight.
My son has left for Uni,
he messaged today to say he’s making lots of friends.
You’ll miss him being away.
And the wind blows softly
and the rain falls lightly
and we’ll never want for water on the moors
It’s not funny when you haven’t got a pound
Change the nappies,
Cook the dinner,
I've a storm in the kitchen,
and a gale in the lounge -
Perhaps she’s tired, perhaps she’s sad
Have you asked what’s the matter, lad?
Perhaps she’s tired, perhaps she’s sad
Have you asked what’s the matter, lad?
And the wind blows softly
And the rain falls lightly
And we’ll never want for water on the moors -
But sometimes it don’t just rain – it pours.
And the wind blows softly
And the rain falls lightly
And we’ll never want for water on the moors -
But sometimes it don’t just rain – it pours
Perhaps she’s tired, perhaps she’s sad
Have you asked what’s the matter, lad?
Perhaps she’s tired, perhaps she’s sad
Have you asked what’s the matter, lad?
And the wind blows softly
And the rain falls lightly
And we’ll never want for water on the moors -
But sometimes it don’t just rain – it pours.
Have you ever asked her what’s the matter, lad?
I think she doesn’t love me no more,
Sometimes it don’t just rain – it pours.
I think she doesn’t love me no more,
Sometimes it don’t just rain – it pours.
