The Seed

It's there forever in your heart.

A tiny seed of joy.

Your hopes and dreams

and plans and schemes.

A future gone so fast.

Stolen, taken, empty now.

An ocean of tears to sail.

A storm inside with crashing waves,

Tossed and turned

and crashed and burned.

Heart forever broken.

Time will heal, it's no big deal.

6 years on it's still the same.

Changed my life forever.

Pink or blue

I never knew.

Memories in a cardboard box.

The future gone forever.

But then I look at what I have got.

So perfect and such treasure.

Their hopes and dreams,

Their plans and schemes.

A future there forever.

Love, pride and more beside.

Laura - A very sensitive subject, that must have been difficult to write about. I hope that you found the process cathartic in some way. Your pain comes through in the words, which are extremely well written and obviously heartfelt. I sympathise and commend at the same time.
