The well-known poet John Agard(pictured) is playing Lewes Poetry this Thursday (17 September). Lewes resident John - one of Britain's best-known published poets - will read from his two new books - Clever Backbone, and Alternative Anthem: Selected Poems.
It will be a rare John Agard gig in a small venue.  Also on the bill will be Jeremy Stockwell, the star of the BBC2 show The Speaker, Rachel Shorer, Charlie Devus and MC Oliver, as well Open Mic poets and the legendary Prize Limerick Competition.
It's at the Lewes Arms, 1 Mount Place, Lewes, 8pm (door), 8.30pm (show), and door tax is just a fiver!
