I Think I Love You More Than Chocolate
I’m not going into this
So blind I can’t see,
But when you position me
Across cotton territories
I fumble at the seams
Overwhelmed in us
As we shake the cobwebs free
To drift lazily into autumn dreams
Leaving ghost of summer past,
Clutching at layers of fabric
I slip the silk shift
Over unsightly permanent scar
Wickedly chasing shooting stars.
Position me carefully
In perfection I weep
Remembering
As you grip and feed,
When the world shut its door
I gathered you to me
Knowing it would be easier
To let you go.
A little fatal flaw
I think I love you
More than chocolate
More than those lyrics
In that song you remiss,
Perhaps more than yawning seas
Or buttercup sun’s artery,
Or the softness of God’s breeze
Whispering
More than mythology, theology or
Ideology................
More than life’s mysteries
This fatal flaw
Of the heart
Carries permanent scars
That I grapple and twist
Leading to spinning seminars,
Released inside fractured skull
Slaughtered in my abattoir
Position me wisely
I’ve not far to fall.
