The Sea Gull
The Sea Gull
With elegance and sublime serenity
she flies by with no temerity
Perfectly and beautifully formed
she is so completely unadorned
She glides by with such casual ease
and with her eyes does gently tease
Her wings outstretched and open wide
above the early morning tide
Sweeping and swooping high in space
she casts no shadow on our earthly face
Her grace and charm are so cristal clear
who can but hold her dear
Sometimes she stands and stares out to sea
wondering where else she would rather be
She travels light with no expense
and undeterred when the fog is dense
She is the mistress of all the seas
her wings caressing each and every breeze
With vigilance she guards our national coast
and not for one second does she boast
