Sweet Nothings (A Homage to Hugo Williams's poem of the same name)

(Day 8 of NaPoWriMo was a prompt suggesting we write a poem which relies on repetition. I did a homage the other day to Hugo Williams so todays poem came from that with his work from Billy’s Rain still fresh in my head)

Sweet Nothings
(Homage to Hugo Williams’s poem of the same name)

Picturing your expression
Every-time you run into my arms
It goes without saying
I love you more and more.

Whether outside Tescos
Round the back of your flat
Or outside either of our works
I love you more and more.

Ducking under bus stops in the rain
Or crawling to the top of Tandle Hill
Completely spent in sweat
I love you more and more.

Narrowing feelings down
Whether alone or together
Miles apart or in my arms
I love you more and more

I love you more and more
Sketching out responses
To daily poems throughout April
Wishing the hugging would never end.
