WORDS & MUSIC COLLABORATIONS - Two Day Workshop
The aim of the workshops is to enable six writers and six musicians to work for two days in collaborations experimenting with the combination of text and sound stretching the boundaries of music and using words and sound in abstract/atmospheric ways.
Please note: this is not a 'songwriting workshop'.
It’s on Saturday 3rd & Saturday 10th October at The Storey, Meeting House Lane, Lancaster.
Day 1 will focus on working in collaboration creating and developing short pieces combining words and sound.
Day 2 will enable participants with no mp3 skills or knowledge to record the collaborative pieces produced there and then.
Participants will be encouraged to submit their recordings for consideration to litfest’s forthcoming Audio Artists (Flax020) - an audio album of mp3 recordings.
Contributors to the audio album may submit up to 90 seconds of fiction or poetry as an mp3.
This can be work that has been previously published, but not as an audio recording. Submissions can be solo voice, voice and music, remixed or not - no soundtracks or imported samples.
The fee for the 2 day workshop is £20
