The Homeland

 

The love of country is patriotism

The superiority of country is nationalism

The two are as different as chalk and cheese

one with the other is not at ease

 

To love the earth from whence we came

offers the world no hint of shame

To place it above all others

is to subjugate and to smother

 

We will make America great again

is now the popular refrain

Put America and Americans first

is to ignore others who desperately thirst

 

The human family encompasses us all

as we inhabit this earthly ball

We differ in many and varied ways

not matter what one says

 

Deutschland uber Alles was their cry

and now proven to be a lie

We are all the same you see

yes exactly, you and me
