Ashes to Ashes
coupla romantic pomes
It being Easter and what have you, I've been watching Irish fillums and the melancholy and the music and the yearnings gush through me.
'Before The Wind Blows My Ashes Away'
I will present that which I birthed
That angels might have whispered
Or demons hissed
In the night hours
When darkness before dawn ached into my bones
I will produce my truth
And sing my songs
That a fragrance might arise
From the scatterings
As the wind blows my ashes away.
'Goodbye My Closet Love'
I sang for you
I danced for you
I wrote for you to win your love
I called for you in my night prayers
I tried to be happy when you adored another
I wore a mask of sympathy when you fell out of love
So many Valentine’s I never sent
So many poems I hid away unsaid
So many times I reached for your hand
So many times I drew back.
So many kisses aimed at your lips
So many times glanced your cheek
So many grains of ashes settling over the shore.
