Swept of my feet

I see you and I smile,
But it's not what they think,
It's not what they see,
It's what we have made.

We can be weak,
Just hold on tight,
This storm will pass.

We can be strong,
Just remember what we've done,
Hold it in your heart.

You surprise me,
We talk of a flat, a child and jobs,
Rather than ignoring our fears.

The clouds have lifted,
The mountains are on our horizon,
But there is no one I would rather walk alongside.

You are my best friend,
So laugh when I am stupid,
Be there when I cry,
Talk randomly with me,
And I will do the same.

Thankyou, I am glad it worked out and wanted to try and put across the realisations I have had as our relationship has grown - as it's not generally what I read about as a child, that that i focus on now x

This is a poem to savour over again. I love the first stanza which has that line
'it's not what they think' there is too much superficial judgement and we all do it. I also like the way it grows in an intensity that goes beyond the obvious.
Lovely
