Captured
Dear child,
Those moments when
Such wondering
Never came to
Visit your home,
Do you recall?
How about those
Looking into
A stranger's eyes
Nothing to ask
But not empty
But purity?
Welcoming the
Afternoon breeze
Brushing through
Your hair, your face
Freeing your hands
Onto each breath?
You remember?
Listening to
Every word they
Utter and ask
Say and demand,
Fulfilled each one?
"Each one captured."
You'd say and try
To recall each
Breaking of you
Into small pieces
Scattered to, where?
Captured, shattered,
Smiles lost along
Each memory
Dives into the
Abyss of wonder
Drowning, breathing.
Captured each one.
And why oh why
Did you open
Your eyes, your mind?
Now wonder why
Captured each one?
Dear child?
