MY CAMPFIRE GUITAR
My friend thinks that I'm a nut,
That this time I've gone too far,
You see I'm pushing twenty seven now,
And I've bought a new guitar.
It's not a real expensive brand,
Like Martin, that's for sure.
"Made in Korea" I think it reads,
In some little town obscure.
The other guitar i had,
Well - I buried it today.
A heavy tool box fell on it,
on a rough track.
Now i can't sing or play too well,
But i have a lot of fun.
A campfire bright, some friends and beer
On the track when day is done.
I don't play those rock music or mettalic,
But songs by Yeng and Jerih Lim,
Life house and Blink 182
Are good enough for me.
Now I'm living here in Philippines,
In Cebu - state so fair,
But oft times at night, when stars are bright,
I'd like to be out there.
So I'll build myself a fire, and I'll cook a damper too,
Then make believe I'm far outback,
When my new guitar and you!
