No Surrender
No Surrender
Another battle, another day
From afar, she seems to go
Happily on her way
What you don’t know is
She’s doing her best
To cope with incessant pain
With remarkable courage
She’ll give it a go
But the hurt is something
Only her Fibro buddies
Will really know
On good days it’s bearable
But incredibly, she’s been called a fake
Unsympathetic ignorance
From those whose bones don’t ache
I am not a sufferer
I sometimes forget that she is
A testament to her spirit
As she gives all she can give
It makes her angry but determined
She isn’t going to be beat
Suffering without complaint
From her head down to her feet
But her attitude is no surrender
She will never admit defeat
For someone special, and fibro myalgia sufferers everywhere

Lovely heartfelt poem, Jeff. Constant pain must be hard enough to bear without the doubters.
