Do I smell funny?

You ever get the feeling that you smell like curry?
Now I'm not being racist or trying to be funny
It is just a simple thing that I have observed
Whenever I leave my house it's quite absurd
I smell like centuries of mastering flavour
Of spices and mixes that one should savour
Of happy childhood memories in the kitchen
Where food is not just boiled veg and chicken
But a lifetime of experiences yet to be had
For those who don't have it, I feel quite sad
Because in my house, food is so delectable
Not small and dainty, but abundantly edible
You should come for lunch some day
So that when next time you hear me say
I'm so annoyed as I think I smell like curry
You don't cringe, you just become hungry.

Colin's suggestion is spot on. If we're talking chillies then we'll need chilled beer for sure. So count me in. I'll be there with a slab under my arm.

Salivatig already!

Delightful piece! A subject common to us all. And in couplets! What's not to love?

I'm a real wimp when it comes to hot spicy food. so till recently we have shied away from curries, but I have come to realise it's more about flavour and doesn't have to be too hot.
I really enjoyed this, as I'm sure I'd really enjoy your meals.

Cheers Kevin

Curry--such a distinct flavor and smell. If nothing else, the taste for good food should serve as a common point of unity and a symbol of care for the proliferation of all mankind. And, good food can make a life lived within the most meager means feel tolerable.

I recently came upon garam masala and am in love...
