The Voyeuristic Commuter
I am the voyeuristic commuter
I gaze at your phone, your laptop computer
From behind you, your shoulder
From across the carriage
I note the labels
Attached to your baggage
I see each statement
View transactions online
Watch you re-enter the same pin
Time after time
I know where you were born
The name of your pet
Which school you went to
When you and your fella first met
I can list standing orders and debits
How much; when set up
Such innocent words
The toys of the corrupt
You’ve shown me your likes on Facebook
Imparted your dislikes on Twitter
I know about the meds that you once took
I see what makes you so bitter
We could be together forever
And what’s yours is now mine
You may only realise in 18 months time
I’ll slide silently away as this journey ends
My new found identity... darkness descends
