Mortal Curiousity
Angels have died in this place
Blissful agony etched upon their face
Flaming swords pierced the purest heart
Empty vessels now their souls depart
Once their heavenly eyes sought guidance
Opaque now in their time of deliverance
Strength from wings diminished
Their war over, battle finished.
The demons watched
As the angels bled
No longer angered
Morbid curiousity fed
Demons,too, died here
Their faces etched with fear
Ethereal spear through blackest heart
Turned to ashes as they depart
Feral eyes sought reassurance
Sightless now in their time of defiance
Obeyance of evil diminished
Their war over, battle finished.
The angels watched
As the demons bled
No longer angered
Morbid curiousity fed
Hope once resided here
Only to fade and disappear
The most purest form of humility
Displaced, destroyed by the futility
Of the continual conflict
An end none could predict
This visitation of armaggedon
Total and complete annihilation.
No one watched
As all bled
No longer angered
Mortal curiousity fed.
Here the holier than thou made their stand
Wrong choice of weapon in their hand
Ubiquitous in ignorance
The rebirth of innocence.
