Renewed (Soon)

entry picture

A warm glow from within your leathery shell

The muffled heartbeat of a renewed life

Soon you will be able to stretch your wings

I see you in there, your beauty, your wonder

Take your time, don’t rush

I won’t leave you, you’re never alone

The strength already lies inside you

You’re alive, and it’s dark, and it hurts

The world is cold and cruel

Though within you lies a forceful blaze

A flame so warm, gentle and yet terrifying, powerful

Able to withstand the coldest winters,

The wildest hurricanes, and much more

The pride I have in your growth, my dragon

Is not comparable to any other

Soon, you will fly once more

Very interesting. It could go 'anywhere' in personal interpretation - always a fine 'poetical point'.

It is all very beautiful both poem and artwork. I have come across a number of artists who also write poetry and am always in awe of their abilities
Nice one

The artwork is also mine. Hand drawn, digitally inked and painted.
