AIR ON THE G STRING
Double bass rumbling strong
In time with dusty drum kit worn
Treble clef on the music sheet
As toes start tapping to the beat
Choir looking smart and neat
The audience stuck to their seats
Woodwind section tuning in with
Violins making a screaming din
It’s still in tune and keeping tight
Conductor waving baton white
Orchestra pit on tenterhooks each
Section exchanging nervous looks
But still the music reverberates
Despite the feelings that negate
Togetherness and harmony
Boldness not in their armoury
Choir swaying as they sing
Orchestral bells begin to ring
In sync with ‘air on the g string’
