Mea culpa
Cold acts I have done
decades ago
linger:
a ruined wedding
a drowned pet
a neglected mother
These I could draw for you
if I only had the time —
current cruelties take all my notice
while future meanness
starts to dawn

Douglas, the words Mea Culpa remind me of the preparatory sentencces before the Mass. Our guilt remains with us but repentance is the only key to bring reconciliation. We all harbour such wrong doings yet this poem deals with memory which certainly does linger. Well done and thank you. Keith
