Generation Gap, Next...

Take me back to the days of heady boutiques

Those psychedelic shades which heighten the senses

Racks of lush purple velvet, loon pants, cheesecloth, suede mini skirts

Float me to Biba, Granny Takes A Trip

Where tender darkness and patchouli wafting

Not sickly Haribo sweetness...clinging, cloying

...and thanks for the mention....oh yes, we are most definitely biased though.
I feel the only positive that we have now, are the charity shops and recycling.

Hi Jane, I started writing a comment which turned into a poem so thanks for the inspiration! Your 60's dressing up box certainly spilled over into the 70's and I think punk and the New Romantics were perhaps the last of the fun times for youth fashion - but then you and I are both biased aren't we?!

I do think though that fashion became a lot more commercialised from the early 80's onward and the homemade element that had existed from and before the 50's simply disappeared. Even fancy dress costumes nowadays are all off the peg and made in China. Simply ghaaaaastly daaaaarling!!

Col.
