Highway 39

It was 2pm of a hot summer day..
When  she opened my eyes to show me my way...
I thought I have been left in the desert all alone...
And she guided me back to what I knew was my home...

Driving through the lanes on highway 39..
While trying to get rid of the memories I had left behind...
I met this friend,  her name was "Life"...
And somehow I realised I am still alive...

I saw some clouds hovering over my sky....
They were getting wider as much as I was trying to cry...
I was in search of, but couldn't find that bright glowing sun..
I was becoming  mad as I took the sharp right turn...

Driving through the lanes on highway 39..
While trying to get rid of the memories I had left behind...
I met this friend,  her name was "Life"...
And somehow I realised I am still alive...

Standing along my path were some maple trees staring at me...
They looked like some old ugly natives no one cares to see...
They still nurture the hope to grow together with time...
That someday they too will flaunt their fall colours, with a bright shine...

Driving through the lanes on highway 39..
While trying to get rid of the memories I had left behind...
I met this friend,  her name was "Life"...
And somehow I realised I am still alive...
