Walk With me At A Distance
My Love,
Wanting to be nearer to you
I am writing you
That we might walk at a distance
It is my request
That each word on the page might hold you
(As I have held you)
I write them longing to be in your hold (your occupation)
Where we might breathe a placited, beautiful sigh - or two
Carefully I commission each word to the page
That they might be the architecture for a bridge
Spanning distance and time
Connecting us
Inspired, hoping as you read, you might
Feel the ghost of my hand in yours
As my thoughts elicit your touch
As I recall the taste of you on my mouth
(Sigh)
Allas, the more I write, the more I am vexed
The more intimate and merciless time and distance become
And as my frigille construction falters and fails
I sigh only a sigh of fervent longing
Do not linger
Do not tarry
Come back to me
Come home
Your once upon a time, for happily ever after love,
August

Beautiful writing.
Read it through twice.
