Auryn's Heartbeat
Auryn’s Heartbeat
We are neither always good, or all powerful,
We are not the strength of fossil bone,
We are not the taking of each death
To ends of Earth,
We are not as individuals – the globe!
We are not infinite, immortal or timeless
Within a shroud of silence,
We are not long upon the memory
While discordance crowds the fool,
We are not the sum of violence,
Or illness, or tragedy.
We are not ‘in essence’ – photography,
Recording imagery from birth,
We are not objects made from calcium
And skin, we are not a carbon rope.
We are not mapped,
We are neither trapped
Or home from times of despots will
We are not the sum of killing,
Or genocide, or an entity of evil bidding.
What we are,
Is felt upon the features
When sunrise climbs the dawn,
What we are – are tears of mothers
For every child that’s born,
We are the pride of every father
Schooled in acting tough, when placed
Within his arms,
We are the fragile of the boldest
Smiles, we are the heavens warmth.
We are the life that begs to grow,
We are the infants of tomorrow,
We are boy meets girl,
We are man and wife,
We are the life inside the womb.
We are the light from darkest nights
Of fears, we are stating proclamations
For all humanity,
We are universals dream.
We are Gods kind compliment
To each other,
We are the truth if truth allows
The light of day,
We are the spark that
Feels and heals the heart,
We are loving,
Human,
Beings.

Hi Mike, I am not as frequently on here as I'd like, so I was not familiar with your poetry until you just left a comment on 'Patience'.
I am highly impressed with the sensitivity and depth in your work - especially this piece. There is a subtle undercurrent to this work that speaks louder than the words themselves.
Excellent work.
